New Delhi/UNI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) both of them held protests against each other over the mayoral poll in the national capital on Monday.

While the AAP held a protest outside the BJP headquarters here, the BJP workers staged a protest near Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence.

AAP workers raised the issue of the nomination of an alderman in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

The AAP alleged that the saffron party wanted to capture MCD through dishonesty but it would not allow it to happen.

AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj alleged that BJP wanted to get Alderman voting done. “We will not allow BJP to capture MCD,” he said.

Meanwhile, the BJP staged a protest near CM’s house against the ruckus and violation of the Constitution in the MCD House.

The police used water cannons on the protesters who were moving towards the CM's residence.

BJP Delhi unit working President Virendra Sachdeva said that the incident that took place in the MCD House on Jan 6 was very shameful in which political decorum was violated.
