Domestic air passenger traffic crosses pre-Covid levels in Dec 2022

New Delhi/IBNS: The monthly domestic air passenger traffic reached 1.29 crore, topping the pre-COVID level in December 2022, media reports said.

The increase in air passenger traffic within the country is a healthy trend and a good sign for the industry, said Jyotiraditya Scindia, the minister for civil aviation, said a report in the media.

The domestic air passenger traffic stood at 1.26 crore in December 2019.

"2022 sets new record in air passenger movement," according to a graphic shared by the minister on his Twitter handle on Tuesday, according to the report

There is a healthy trend in domestic passenger movement of late – a good sign for the aviation sector, the minister said in a tweet.
