Thiruvananthapuram/UNI: Ahead of commencing fourth day of the Kerala leg of 'Bharat Jodo Yatra’, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Wednesday visited the Sivagiri Mutt and paid obeisance at Samadhi of social reformer and spiritual leader Sree Narayana Guru.

He also interacted with the heads of Sivagiri Mutt and praised the contribution of the guru to the social reformation of Kerala.

"Sree Narayana Guru dedicated his life to reject casteism, promote social equality and spiritual enlightenment. The revered Sivagiri Mutt has been visited by Jawaharlal Nehru, Indiraji and Rajiv Gandhi in the past. His teachings will always inspire the humankind," Rahul said.

"Sree Narayana Guru, who empowered millions of poor people and propagated 'One Caste, One Religion, One God for All, had conveyed a great message to humanity to overcome challenges posed by social inequalities," he added

He restarted the padayatra from Navaikulam, where there was a huge turnout with hundreds of people lined up on both sides of road to extend their support to the Wayanad MP.

Rahul Gandhi will also interact with school, college and engineering students.

The 19-day yatra from Sept 11 to 29 in Kerala will cross seven districts and cover 450 km in the state, while the all India leg will cover 3,750 km and pass through 12 states and two union territories in 150 days.
