Vietnam crucial for India’s Act East Policy: S Jaishankar says as he meets country's FM

New Delhi: Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday said  Vietnam is crucial for India’s Act East Policy.

He met with the country's Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son at the new embassy building of Vietnam in the national capital.

He tweeted: " Delighted to meet@FMBuiThanhSonat the new Embassy building of Vietnam in New Delhi."

" Our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has made significant progress," he said.

"Recognized advancements in our political, defence, economic, energy and development cooperation," Jaishankar said.

India and Vietnam have millennia-old civilisation and both nations have close historical association, he was quoted as saying by Times Now.

The Vietnamese leader, who visited India and met Jaishankar, said: " I’m honoured to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Diplomatic Relations with FM
@DrSJaishankar in New Delhi. We are proud of traditional friendship and fully confident that our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will continue to blossom in the next 50 years and beyond!"
