
Indian govt sends 40,000 metric tonnes of diesel to crisis-hit Sri Lanka
Colombo: The Indian government sent 40,000 metric tonnes of diesel to Sri Lanka under the credit line facility at a time when the nation is battling the worst economic crisis.
"Pumping diesel into #SriLanka!!! Another 40,000 MT consignment of diesel under the credit line from #India reached #Colombo today," the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka tweeted.

Sri Lanka is witnessing political changes in the country amid an economic crisis and protests.

The PM slot fell vacant after Mahinda Rajapaksa, brother of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, stepped down from his post on May 9.
