Lucknow/UNI: The Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Monday reiterated that the farm protests will continue till all their demands, including legal guarantee on Minimum Support Price (MSP), are met.

He criticized PM Narendra Modi for not implemented the Swaminathan Committee's recommendations.

"Mr Modi as Gujrat CM had headed a committee in 2011 demanding a statutory guarantee for MSP. He should implement that report now," BKU leader said during a Kisan Mahapanchayat here at the Eco ground.

"We will not compromise till MSP becomes a law in the country," he added.

He said he would campaign against BJP across the country if demands were not met.

"Truce has been called by the government, not us. Its time for farmers, youth and workers to unite and continue their fight," he said.

He said there will be attempts to entangle farmers in name of Jinnah, Hindu and Muslims, but farmers have to stand united and won't fell prey to such conspiracy.

Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), which is spearheading the protests against the farm laws, says they would work against the BJP in state elections.

However, Tikait said that decision whether to support BJP or oppose them would be decided on the government's action and when election dates are announced.

He also refused to make any comment on whether they will support RLD-SP combination.

President of All India Kisan Sabha and senior leader of SKM Ashok Dhwale, who was also present in the mahapanchayat, said that all the farmers are united.

"During the Muzaffarnagar Mahapanchayat held on September 5, farmers had decided to oppose the BJP in UP polls," he recalled.

Yogendra Yadav too addressed the Mahapanchayat and alleged that the government was conspiring to divide the farmers.
