Rajouri/IBNS: District Development Commissioner of Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan, chaired a meeting of the concerned officers and reviewed the progress on the houses being constructed under the PM Awas Yojna (U) in the urban areas of the district.

He also held the meet to resolve the issue of lack of coordination between sponsoring and financing agencies.

"On one side we talk of the development of all sections of the society but on the other side, the lack of interdepartmental coordination between the sponsoring and financing agencies in this scheme creates a hindrance in the developmental process," the DDC said.

The DDC said that PMAY-U is an ambitious scheme of the government, as it intends to provide housing for all the urban dwellers by the year 2022.

The meeting was informed that 141 cases of the BLC beneficiaries under PMAY-U have been sponsored by the JK Housing Board and are pending at different branches of the J&K Bank for financing.

The DC asked the bank authorities to make sure that all the sponsored cases are sanctioned in seven days.
