Guwahati/IBNS: After the completion of the assembly election in Assam, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has claimed that the saffron party and its ally parties will form the next government in the state by winning at least 90 seats.

Assam state BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass said that, in the third and last phase of the assembly polls for 40 constituencies which ended on Tuesday (April 6) BJP and its ally parties will win at least 20 seats.

“In the first phase of polls, we will win 40 out of 47 seats, while in the second phase we will win 30 seats out of 39 seats. In the third phase of polls we will win at least 20 seats,” Ranjeet Kumar Dass said.

Ranjeet Kumar Dass who is contesting from Patacharkuch assembly constituency in Bajali district said that, BJP will benefit in the Upper Assam region where the first phase of poll was held, only because of the alliance between Congress and Badruddin Ajmal-led All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF).

“The results will be in our favor. We had fought in this election with the achievement of our government and the activity of the party workers and their engagement. The first and second phases have already decided to give absolute majority to the BJP-led alliance.

"Out of 47 seats in the first phase, we are likely to get 40 seats. In the second phase we are likely to get 30 out of 39 seats. In the last phase of the poll we are likely to get 20 out of 40 seats,” Ranjeet Kumar Dass said.

He also claimed that the Congress-AIUDF led grand alliance and others are likely to win 36 seats.

The Assam state BJP president also claimed that the people of the Upper Assam region were angry about the alliance between Congress and AIUDF and it will help the BJP.

“For this we are likely to get at least seven more seats in the Upper Assam region which were captured by the Congress party,” Ranjeet Kumar Dass said.

He also said that the BJP had taken ‘Mission 100 plus’ for Assam assembly election and the party will touch nearly the target.

The Assam state BJP president further said that the new government will take appropriate measures to make Assam as a flood-free state with top priority.

“We have promised to the people of Assam to make Assam as a flood-free state. Our new government will take this as top priority and will make a strategy for it. We have also taken 10 Sankalps for development of the state and we will do it,” Ranjeet Kumar Dass said.

The Assam state BJP president is also confident over his victory with a huge margin.
