Vijayawada/UNI: BJP leaders of Andhra Pradesh led by State president Somu Veerraju met Union Minister for steel Dharmendra Pradhan in New Delhi on Monday and appealed to him to reconsider the proposal of privatisation of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP).

The BJP leaders apprised the minister that all political parties in AP are vehemently opposing the privatisation of VSP.

Later talking to the media, Somu Veerraju said that they explained to the Union Minister the political situation in the state which arose after the Centre’s decision of privatisation of VSP.

Veerraju said that they would meet the BJP National president J P Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other leaders to appeal to them to reconsider the proposal of privatisation of VSP.

They informed the Union Minister about the alternative ways to save the VSP from being privatised.
