Shah stings Mamata over Saradha, Burdwan blast
Kolkata, Nov 30 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah on Sunday finally addressed the rally in Kolkata and slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee while accusing her of saving the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam defaulters as well as for protecting the Bangladeshi infiltrators.
Acknowledging the huge gathering of people in front of the famous Victoria House at the heart of the city, Shah said Banerjee can reduce the platform of his rally but cannot minimise the love of the people for his party.
"Didi you can minimise the measurement of the dias for our rally but can you throw away the love for BJP from the heart of people?" Shah asked.
"The huge crowd shows that days are numbered for the Trinamool Congress government in the state," Shah claimed at the rally.
He said the government promised development before coming to power, however, even after three and half years, the state remains in the same condition.
Hitting out at the Saradha chit fund scam that affected 17 lakh people in the state, Shah said: "Mamata Didi, you are sending your legislators to Parliament to raise their voices over black money issue. But then why are you saving the Saradha defaulters. Why is she not protesting now like Singur?"
"Now Mamata Di says CBI is framing TMC people, but can you declare they are innocent? I challenge Mamata Di that you say for once that the persons CBI arrested are innocent," the BJP chief slammed.
He said Banerjee should answer who bought her paintings, why was the Shymal Sen Commission not allowed to work.
"Who buys your painting? Why did you close the Shyamal Sen Commission?" said he.
"Now mamata is out to save Saradha accused," Shah said.
He also accused Banerjee of saving the alleged terrorists responsible for the Burdwan bomb blast of Oct 2. He said Banerjee is opposed to NIA probe in the Burdwan blasts.
"Why do you want to save the Bangladeshi infiltrators when people of West Bengal voted you to power. She started vote bank politics and protecting the Burdwan blast accused. You are objecting NIA? Who made you CM of Bengal? The people of Bengal or Bangladeshi infiltrators? She has to answer all these," Shah said.
"Mamata Di will have to answer who are there involved from her party in the Burdwan blast," he added.
Shah said Banerjee can do vote bank politics but she should not make national borders vulnerable.
"I appeal to Mamata Di that you can conduct your vote bank politics but not at the cost of the security measures of India," he said.
"Even Bangladesh people do not support those who you support," he added.
He said the "If Modiji (Prime minister Narendra Modi) wants to develop Bengal, Mamata Di will oppose."
"Bengal has a pool of talents but lacks a leader," Shah said appealing to the people to vote for his party in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation election in May earlier next year.
"I appeal people of Bengal to add the state to national progress by choosing BJP. BJP is winning everywhere. BJP should be in power in Bengal too and make Bengal TMC free," said he.
