Do not undermine the hard work of Corona warriors: Yogi Adityanath to opposition

Lucknow/UNI: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath suggested that opposition should not undermine the hard work of the corona warriors and should come up with positive suggestions rather than criticizing the government.

In his seven-page reply to Leader of Opposition Ram Govind Chaudhury, Chief Minister said that the government is giving top priority to saving and protecting the people of Uttar Pradesh from the global epidemic.

“We have brought back migrants provided them food and shelter and have also started industrial production besides ensuring the farm activity is not hampered. Education is made virtual and medical college hospitals and district hospitals are all fitted with modern contraptions,” he said in his letter sent to Choudury on Thursday.

The migrant workers are being registered and they will be given a job in Uttar Pradesh according to their skills. They will be accommodated in MGNREGA, ODOP, Vishwakarma Shram Samman, MSME, women self-help groups, dairy industry, fertilizer societies, etc. Besides, they will also be absorbed in industrial units, CM said.

Last week Chaudhury had written a letter to the Chief Minister saying that people were suffering and they were being pushed to starvation as they have nothing to eat. He has suggested that the Government should act pro-actively in favour of poor and downtrodden.

Adityanath, however, in his reply explained that despite Uttar Pradesh is home to 23 crore people, bigger than many countries of Europe which are devastated by this deadly disease, UP has recorded 2969 cases of which 1080 have fully recovered.

He also talked about the government’s repatriation campaign under which students from Kota and migrant workers from Haryana were brought home.

“When this disease hit UP we did not have a single lab to check this virus but now the state has 25 labs of which 20 are state-run and over 4500 tests are being carried out daily. In April the government has distributed7.47 lakh metric tone of food grain among 3.24 crore cardholders besides 2.73 were given free food grain. During the lockdown over 23,000 provision stores were allowed to do door-to-door delivery," he said.

The CM also said that over 2.08 crore farmers were benefitted under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana and under MGNREGA Rs 611 crore has been distributed.

“It is my government’s commitment that no one will sleep empty stomach in this state. The opposition only needs to change its focus,” the CM said.
