Haryana records five fresh coronavirus cases; tally touches 261

Chandigarh/UNI: Five fresh cases of Coronavirus were reported in Haryana on Friday, taking the count to 261.

According to an official bulletin, two new cases each have been reported from Gurugram and Panipat districts while one fresh case has been recorded from Rohtak district.

So far, the pandemic had claimed three lives in the state. One death each was reported from Karnal, Rohtak and Ambala districts.

In Haryana, Nuh district leads the tally with 57 positive cases, followed by Gurugram 47, Faridabad 43, Palwal 34, Panchkula 18, Sonepat 13, Ambala 12, Panipat seven, Karnal six, Sirsa and Rohtak four each, Yamunanagar and Bhiwani three each, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Hisar and Jind two each and Fatehabad and Charkhi Dadri districts recorded one case each.

Out of 18,845 samples, 261 tested positive and 16,642 negatives, while reports of 1,928 were awaited. There are 86 active cases in the state.

A total of 172 patients, including 35 each from Nuh and Gurugram, 29 from Faridabad, 27 from Palwal, ten from Ambala, five each from Karnal and Panipat, four each from Sirsa and Sonepat, three each from Yamunanagar and Panchkula, two each from Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Hisar, Jind and Bhiwani and one patient each from Fatehabad and Charkhi Dadri districts, have been discharged from hospitals so far.

A total of 34,122 patients have been put on surveillance till date, out of which 17,998 have completed their surveillance period and currently, 16,124 patients are under surveillance.

Meanwhile, apart from 261 positive cases, 14 Italians had tested positive. Thirteen of them had been discharged and one later tested negative for COVID-19. However, he died due to some other reason.
