J'khand reports 5 more confirmed cases of Coronavirus as numbers reach to 24

Ranchi/UNI: The total number of Coronavirus patients in the state increased to 24 today as five more people tested positive for Coronavirus in the state.

Principal Secretary of the state Health Department Nitin Madan Kulkarni has confirmed the news.

RIMS Dr DK Singh on his part said that during the day a total of 178 samples were tested in RIMS out of which 173 had turned negative while 5 were positive.

Official sources said that among the 5 new patients 3 are from Hindpiri area of Ranchi and 1 each are from Bokaro and Giridih.

Now District wise Ranchi has 11 confirmed Coronavirus cases, Bokaro 9, Hazaribagh 2, Koderma 1 and Giridih 1. Out of these 24 cases, 22 are active while 2 are dead.

A report from Bokaro said that a 23-year-old youth from Sadham of Gomia block has tested positive for Coronavirus. Bokaro Civil Surgeon Ashok Kumar Pathak said that the youth is presently admitted at BGH.

Another report from Giridih said that a woman who happens to be the mother of the youth who had tested positive for Coronavirus earlier in Koderma has tested positive for the disease.

She too hails from Jehnabad village located under Raj Dhanwar block of Giridih district.

Official sources said that woman had been placed under home quarantine at a city hotel and after she tested positive for the disease she has been shifted to the isolation ward of the Sadar Hospital.
