Guwahati/IBNS: Amidst the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak that killed over 4200 people across the world, the hotels in Assam’s Silchar town have denied giving rooms to the foreign tourists as panic builds upon the spread of the virus.

A tourist from Spain was denied a room by many hotels in Silchar town in Cachar district.

According to the reports, the Spanish cyclist identified as Pablu Alberto Fernandez Garcia reached Silchar town from Meghalaya on Thursday and searched for a hotel room to spend a night.

But, all hotels in the city had denied rooms to the foreign tourist over Coronavirus scare

Later, the Spanish tourist reached a police station in the city and the police had managed a room for him at the government circuit house.

Pablu Alberto Fernandez Garcia said that he had visited all the hotels in the city but everybody denied to give a room for him.

“No one hotel gave me a room, because I am a foreigner and they are all afraid of Coronavirus. After visiting 20 hotels, finally, I went to a police station and they gave me a place at the circuit house to spend a night. They also took me to the hospital and checked me. I tested negative with Coronavirus. I am in the region for the last four months,” the Spanish tourist said.
