Holi celebration: Delhi Police chief visits violence-hit Northeast Delhi, exchange sweets

New Delhi/UNI: On the festival of Holi on Tuesday, Delhi Police Commissioner SN Shrivastava visited violence-hit northeast district of the National Capital, met members of "Aman" committee and other people and extended greetings.

He appreciated the efforts of people and the police along with Aman Committee members in maintaining peace.

The police chief exchanged pleasantries with the people and children of the area.

He inspected the police deployment, met police personnel deployed in the area, exchanged sweets and boosted their morale.

In view of security and safety of people and keeping in check anti-social elements, more than 170 traffic pickets have been put in the area.

Around 131 integrated checking pickets involving Traffic Police, District Police and PCR staff were put up to check unruly and dangerous driving, the police said.

Large number of woman police staff was also deployed in the city and especially and around North and South campus area to pump confidence in women.
