Amid slow voting, high profile voters urge Delhites to come out and vote
New Delhi/IBNS: Amid sluggish start, high profile voters in the national capital urged the Delhites to come out and vote. Till 1:30 pm an average voter turnout of 27.04% was recorded.
BJP MP Gautam Gambhir was one of the early voters. The Cricketer-turned politician and his family cast votes.
Early today, he took to twitter to urge the voters to use their voting rights.
“Voting is not only our right. Its our power. I urge every Delhiite and specially the youth and first time voters to go and use their right to vote and participate in the biggest festival of democracy. #DelhiElections2020," he tweeted.
After voting, Gambhir posted picture along with his family posing with their inked fingers.

Congress interim President Sonia Gandhi, party's general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, leader Rahul Gandhi and former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on Saturday exercised their franchise for the 2020 Delhi Assembly polls.
'Everyone should come out and vote. It is extremely important. Don't be lazy," Priyanka Gandhi Vadra told reporters.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Robert Vadra's son, Raihan Rajiv Vadra, exercised his franchise for the first time. After voting, Raihan told reporters "it was a nice feeling" and "everyone should exercise their voting rights".

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Admi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal voted with his family and urged voters to participate in voting process to strengthen the democracy.

Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari was seen offering praying at his residence ahead of polls.
After voting, Tiwari took to his twitter handle to call up on the Delhites to come out and vote.

Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu cast her vote for the Delhi Assembly elections 2020 along with her family, and said that every vote counts.
Taapsee has cast her vote along with sister Shagun and her parents. The actress flew down to her home city from Mumbai on Friday.

Around 1.47 crore eligible voters of Delhi will elect representatives for the 70-member Delhi assembly from 672 candidates from 0800 hrs to 1800 hrs today.
The voter turnout, according to some experts, is being considered very important in these elections as it can change poll prospects of any candidate.
Polling will end at 1800 hrs and the results will be announced on February 11.
