Kashipur(West Bengal)/UNI: The body of a man, who had left his house a week ago, was was found on Sunday, amid a cluster of bamboo trees at Nagalbaki village under Kashipur police station in South 24 Parganas district.

The deceased Deepankar Mondal left his house after a dispute with his wife around a week ago, local sources said.

A case was also lodged at the Kashipur police station when he did not return for some days.

Based on it, the police searched for his whereabouts. On Sunday, Kashipur police station was informed about a body lying in the midst of bamboo growth close to his house. The police recovered the body and sent it for autopsy.

According to police sources, Dipankar was missing for several days. Police claimed that he must have died a few days ago as his body was recovered in a decomposed state.

The police have launched an investigation to ascertain if his death was a case of suicide or murder due to the strangulation marks on his neck.

However, his family has claimed the marks were not caused by self-inflicted strangulation and the murder angle in the case should be probed.
