Alliance with Shiv Sena will ultimately benefit BJP: Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam
Mumbai/New Delhi/IBNS: Congress leader and former MP Sanjay Nirupam has reiterated his apprehensions about the evolving coalition comprising Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party, and Congress, saying that the alliance could result in "political instability" and ultimately benefit the BJP.
Tweeting in Hindi, Nirupam said, "Our leaders are arguing that we are taking the risk of allying with Shiv Sena to stop BJP. But how long will the alliance of three parties work? In that situation, either BJP will form a government with another party or there will be elections. In both cases, BJP will be benefitted and Congress will suffer."

Earlier today, senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that both Congress and NCP have agreed to a full five-year term for a Shiv Sena Chief Minister and a common minimum programme is being worked upon to accommodate the agendas of the collaborating parties.
On Thursday, the 54-year-old leader had said the decision to stitch an alliance with Shiv Sena at the third position was like burying Congress in Maharashtra.
After the poll results which came out on Oct 24, the Sena had demanded 50:50 power share in the government and rotational Chief Ministership which were rejected by the BJP.
Following the rejection of the demands, the Sena and BJP parted their ways.
The BJP has 105 seats, 40 less than the majority (145) while the Sena won 56 seats.
The NCP and Congress, which fought the polls in an alliance, have 54 and 44 seats respectively.
