High reaches of Himachal experience snowfall

Shimla/UNI: High reaches of Himachal Pradesh experience snowfall and rain lashed downstream in last 24 hrs increasing cold wave in the state.

In Lahaul & Spiti district, Ghondhla had 38 cm snowfall, Kothi & Keylong-10 cm each and Kalpa in Kinnaur 3 cm.

Rohtang Pass, Lady of Keylong, Seven Sister's hill and Goshal hills and Kaza in Lahaul Spiti also recorded snowfall, High reaches of Dalhousie, and Kinnaur Kailash ranges, last bordering village Chitkul and other high reaches of Kinnaur moderate to heavy snowfall in last 24 hrs.

Tourist resort Dalhousie recorded 46 mm rainfall, Chamba 41 mm, Tissa and Ghumarwin in Bilaspur 40 mm each, Kothi in Lahaul Spiti 30 mm, tourist resort Manali 28 mm, Kheri in Chamba 26 mm Bhuntar in Kullu 21 mm, Bijahi & Janjehli of Mandi 18  mm each.

Banjar of Kullu had 17 mm rainfall, Kalpa in Kinnuar 16 mm, Mandi 15 mm, Jogindernagar and Dharmshala 13 mm each, Gaggal,  Gohar & Baldwara in Mandi 12  mm each, Sundernagar,  Nagrota Suriyan Guler & Palampur of Kangra -11 mm each and Baijnath 10 mm.

Minimum temperature in Keylong was coldest of this season recorded minus 1.9 degrees, Dalhousie minus 0.2 degrees, Kalpa 0.7 degrees, Manali 2.4 degrees , Kufri three degrees Shimla 6.9 degrees, Chamba 7.4 degrees, Bhuntar eight degrees, Palampur nine degrees, Sundernagar 9.5 and Dharamshala 9.8 degrees.

Solan and Kangra ten degrees each, Mandi 11.2 degrees, Bilaspur 13 degrees, Hamirpur 13.4 degrees Una 14. degrees and Nahan 14.5 degrees respectively.
The Met Office forecast mainly dry weather in the state during the next 24 hrs.
