New Delhi/UNI: A crucially important agreement on the Strategic Partnership Council between India and Saudi Arabia will be inked during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the country.

Modi will be paying an official visit to Saudi Arabia on Monday and Tuesday at the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

During his stay, the Prime Minister will be attending the third session of the Future Investment Institute forum in Riyadh.

Modi will also hold delegation-level talks with Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud. The Saudi Prince will host a banquet dinner in his honour, official sources said.

The visit of Prime Minister Modi to Saudi Arabia has important components - the first is the strengthening of the bilateral relationship between the two countries and the second, where Prime Minister will deliver keynote address at the Future Investment Initiative Forum.

This forum is also referred as the Davos in the Desert, T S Trimurti, Secretary of Economic Relations in Ministry of External Affairs, told reporters here last week.

The third FII meet is expected to draw out a blue print for making Saudi Arabia a new investment hub in the region.

The foundation for a 'robust' bilateral ties between India and Saudi Arabia was laid down during Prime Minister's visit to that country in 2016.

India and Saudi Arabia are likely to sign several agreements in key areas like civil aviation, defence procurement, security cooperation, non-renewable energy sector during the upcoming visit.

Meanwhile, India has taken up with the global civil aviation body International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for denying the use of airspace for transit for Prime Minister and also for President Ram Nath Kovind in September.

Pakistan authorities announced that it will not be allowing the use of its airspace for Mr Modi's plane during his visit to Saudi Arabia.
