Mumbai/Chandigarh/IBNS: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena are set to win the Maharashtra assembly polls though the saffron party is engaged in a contest with the Congress in Haryana, as per the trends of the poll results.

In Maharashtra, the BJP (101) and Shiv Sena (63) are leading in 164 seats. The alliance of the Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) are leading in 97 seats.

In Haryana, the BJP is leading in 40 seats as opposed to Congress' 31.

The JJP might come up as a king-maker if none of the main parties gets clear majority in Haryana.

The assembly elections in both the states were held on Monday.
