Maharashtra-Haryana Assembly polls results: BJP maintains early leads

New Delhi, Oct 24 (UNI/IBNS) In the first round of elections postcentral government's new measures in Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP established early leads in the state assembly polls in Maharashtra and Haryana.

For elections to the western state of Maharashtra assembly, the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance are leading in 153 assembly seats followed by  Congress and NCP who are ahead in 61. Others are ahead in 28.

In the 90-member Haryana assembly, the saffron outfit was leading in 45 while Congress was ahead in seven assembly constituencies.
The Congress is ahead in 26.

The newly floated JJP had established leads in 12 constituencies, initial trends said. 

This is the first Assembly polls which took place since the Lok Sabha elections witnessed a landslide victory for the BJP earlier this year.
