Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray, the grandson of Bal Thackeray, on Thursday headed towards filing his nominations from Worli for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections.

This is the first time Aditya is contesting an election.

Speaking to reporters, he said, "I am going to build Maharashtra with all the help of all people. Today is a big day. I am going to file the nominations with the blessings of all people."

But the leader remained mum on whether he could become the Chief Minister of the state if Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) returns to power.

Presently, BJP's Devendra Fadnavis is the Chief Minister of the state.

The BJP on Tuesday announced the list of 125 candidates who will fight the polls. The Shiv Sena has also announced a list containing names of its 68 candidates.
