LJP leader surrenders before Bihar court in firing incident

Samastipur, Sep 11 (UNI): An LJP leader Rohit Kumar alias Antu Issar, who is a named accused in a case related to firing at the residence of a prominent railway scrap contractor Badri Goenka, surrendered before a local court here in Bihar on Wednesday.

Under mounting police pressure, the accused surrendered before the court of chief judicial magistrate of Samastipur.

The house of leading railway scrap contractor Badri Goenka in Muski locality of the city was attacked in night on September 5 as outlaws had shot at Goenka, his wife Sonam Goenka and daughter Adithi Goenka leaving them seriously injured.

An FIR was registered at Town police station on the statement of contractor and two people including LJP leader Rohit Kuamr alias Antu Issar were made named accused.

On the other hand, LJP leader said all charges levelled against him were baseless and claimed that he had been falsely implicated in the case under a political conspiracy.

Goenka is undergoing treatment in New Delhi while his wife and daughter are being treated at a private hospital in Samastipur.
