Bengaluru, Sept 3 (UNI): Alleging that the Union government was misusing the Enforcement agencies to browbeat the Opposition leaders, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has called upon its party cadre to stage a protest at all the districts on Wednesday.

In a press release, the KPCC president, R Gundu Rao, stated that the party workers will stage a protest at all the district headquarters against the arrest of the party leader D K Shivakumar by the Enforcement Directorate officials at New Delhi.

Speaking to newsmen, the KPCC president expressed confidence that the Congress leader, D K Shivakumar will get justice and come out clean in the cases slapped by the Income-tax and the ED officials.

Criticising that the BJP government at the Center is trying to silence the Opposition leaders by misusing the Enforcement authorities, the KPCC president said, “Congress has a history for sacrificing for the cause of Freedom of the nation."

“Several of the party leaders had spent entire their life for the cause of the nation,” he said.

The ED officials in Delhi had arrested Congress party’s troubleshooter D K Shivakumar, after subjecting him for questioning for four days in a case relating to money laundering and IT-related issues.

Congress leader’s supporters in Kanakapura taluk, in protest against the arrest of D K Shivakumar had expressed their anguish by pelting stones to state-owned transport buses and also blocked traffic for some time in the Mysuru-Bengaluru state high way.
