Supreme Court lifts ban on mining in Goa
New Delhi, Apr 21 (IBNS) The Supreme Court on Monday lifted the ban on mining of iron ore in Goa.
However, the apex court said not more than 20 million tonnes of iron ore should be mined in a year.
Mining operations in Goa was halted since September 2012 after the Supreme Court imposed temporary ban based on Shah Commission report that pointed out illegality and irregularity to the tune of Rs 35,000 crores.
