Hyderabad, Jun 28 (UNI): Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at their marathon meeting here on Friday decided to make efforts to solve water woes of both the states.

The CMs wanted officials of both the states to work out schemes to ensure irrigation and drinking water for everyone.
The meeting decided to set up a committee comprising officials of both the states to come up with proposals on how and from which point the Godavari water should be diverted.

After the receipt of the report from the committee, further action would be taken.

At a joint press conference after the meeting held nearly five hours, Telangana and AP ministers Eatala Rajender and B.Rajendra Reddy said that the meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere.

The main of the meeting was to solve the existing problems between the two states, they said.

Mr Rajendra said that both the chief ministers were working together like brothers for the development of the two Telugu states.

The officials of both the states would meet on Saturday also to continue the discussions on various issues, he said.

Describing the meeting as historic, the AP minister said that the two Telugu states by solving their water problems would become a role model for the country.
