Guwahati, May 29 (IBNS): A woman stabbed her drunk husband and surrendered before the police with the severed head of her husband.

The incident took place at Majgaon village under Dhalpur police outpost in Assam’s Lakhimpur district last night.

According to the reports, the woman, identified as Guneshwari Borkotoky, beheaded her husband following the frequent domestic violence.

Following the incident, the woman walked into the Dhalpur police outpost with the severed head of her husband.

The woman said that, her husband often came home and tortured her regularly.

“He often came home drunk. The villagers also objected to this. He also disturbed the students and tried to kill me. Even before that he had attacked me. I had been bearing him for years now, but due to our children, I sacrificed and stayed back. Today, he also tried to kill me and for his intolerable act, I was forced to do it,” the accused woman said.

On the other hand, Lakhimpur district police has started investigation into the incident and arrested the woman.

“A woman came into the police outpost and surrendered before the police. She said that, she had killed her husband and came into here with the severed head of her husband. We had also recovered the body. The incident happened due to domestic violence. Investigation is going on,” a police officer said.
