New Delhi, May 28 (IBNS): Former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee said it was a pleasure for him to meet Narendra Modi just two days before he takes oath as the PM for his second term.

Modi will take oath as the PM on May 30.

"Thank you for your kind words & gesture PM Shri @narendramodi. It was indeed a pleasure meeting you. As you proceed, stronger into the second innings, my good wishes are with you in achieving your vision of "सबका साथ , सबका विकास और सबका विश्वास"," Mukherjee tweeted as he appreciated Modi for his gesture of meeting him before the oath-taking ceremony.

Pranab Mukherjee had administered the oath-taking ceremony while Modi had taken oath as the PM of the nation for the first time in 2014.

Modi met former President Pranab Mukherjee to seek blessings on Tuesday.

In a couple of pictures shared on Twitter, Modi said: "Meeting Pranab Da is always an enriching experience. His knowledge and insights are unparalleled. He is a statesman who has made an indelible contribution to our nation. Sought his blessings during our meeting today."

Modi, who was appointed as the Prime Minister by President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday, will take oath on Thursday.

Last week, Modi had met with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veterans Lal Krishna Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, who were denied tickets by the saffron party in the 2019 General Elections.

The BJP swept the polls by winning 303 seats. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) got 353 seats.

Modi won from Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi by close to five lakh votes.
