BJP rally in Delhi in memory of members who died in poll violence in Bengal
New Delhi, May 26 (IBNS): BJP workers here took out a rally and lighted candles in the memory of their colleagues who lost their lives during election violence in West Bengal.
"Senior BJP leaders participated in a candle march at Delhi in memory of our ardent BJP Bengal karyakartas who sacrificed their life while fighting with autocratic rule of Mamata Banerjee," a BJP statement said.
The BJP won an unprecedented 18 of the state's 42 Lok Sabha seats in the Mamata Banerjee-ruled state this time.
Mamata had even offered to resign from the post of CM after the election results were declared. Her Trinamool Congress won 22 seats.
The seven-phase election saw violent scenes in West Bengal in which several political activists lost their lives.
