BJP-Shiv Sena leading in four Lok Sabha seats adjoining Mumbai

Thane, May 23 (UNI) The BJP-Shiv Sena alliance is leading in the four Lok Sabha seats adjoining Mumbai as the clock passed seven-hour of vote-count and further counting is underway.

The BJP-Shiv Sena alliance fielded sitting MPs to wrest the 4 LS seats of Thane, Kalyan, Bhiwandi and Palghar.

According to trends at 1500 hrs, in the Thane LS seat sitting MP Rajan Vichare has recorded 2,82,576 votes against his NCP rival Anand Paranjpe,who polled 1,02,093 votes.

In the Kalyan seat, sitting Shiv Sena MP Dr Shrikant Shinde polled 2,51,445 votes against his NCP rival Babaji Patil,who garnered minimal 69,922 votes till 1500 hrs.

In the Bhiwandi LS seat, sitting BJP MP Kapil Patil polled 2,20,057 votes against the former MP and Congress nominee Suresh Tawre, who polled 1,59,017 votes.

In the neighbouring Palghar LS seat, sitting MP Rajendra Gavit, who defected to the Shiv Sena from the BJP polled 5,75,956 votes against his rival Bahujan Vikas Aghadi's Baliram Jadhav, who registered a total of 4,87,447 votes till 1500 hrs.
