Delhi metro: Technical snag hits Yellow Line, no trains between Qutub Minar, Sultanpur

New Delhi, May 21 (UNI): Delhi Metro train services were disrupted on Yellow Line due to a technical snag on Tuesday morning with train movement being withdrawn between the Qutub Minar and Sultanpur stations.

According to a DMRC spokesperson, train services on Line-2 (Yellow Line) between Qutub Minar and Sultanpur section were disrupted since 0932 hrs due to breakdown of Over Head Electrification (OHE).

As a result, passengers from two trains-one in the section between Qutub Minar and Chattarpur and another in the section between Chattarpur and Sultanpur (at Chattarpur and Sultanpur) which were in this section had to be deboarded.

The spokesperson said to ensure that services are available uninterrupted on rest of the sections on Yellow line, DMRC has introduced short loop services.

Train services are being run between Samaypur Badli and Qutub Minar section of Yellow Line at a frequency of around three minutes.

''There is no Metro Service available between Qutub Minar and Sultanpur section,'' the spokesperson said.

However, the DMRC has introduced Feeder Buses in this section to provide relief to the commuters by connecting this missing link as the OHE repair work is being carried out simultaneously in the affected section.

Train services are being run between Sultanpur and HUDA City Centre section of Yellow Line at a  frequency of around eight minutes.

Normal service on entire Yellow Line in one single loop will be reintroduced as soon as the OHE is restored, the spokesperson added.
