Kannur, May 20 (UNI) The houses of a UDF polling agent and a woman voter came under bomb attack at Pilathara on the wee hours of Monday, where re-polling held on Sunday.

According to the Pariyaram police, unidentified miscreants hurled bombs at the houses of UDF booth agent at Pilathara AUP School VTV Padmanabhan and K G Shallet Sebastain, a voter at booth number 19 in Pilathara AUP school where re-polling held following complaints of bogus voting in the April 23 Lok Sabha election.

Pariyaram police registered two separate cases in connection with the incident and investigation is on to nab the culprits.

During re-polling, the UDF candidate Rajmohan Unnithan interacted with Ms Shallet while she was standing in the queue to cast her vote, which was questioned by CPI(M) workers alleging the UDF candidate campaigned inside the polling station and violated the model code of conduct.

Following the LDF workers protest, she returned home with police escort after casting vote.

On April 23, Shallet could not exercise her franchise as her vote had been cast by someone else.

Meanwhile, Congress-led UDF alleged that CPI(M) workers were behind the bomb attack.
