BJP asking for votes in name of religion-caste: BSP chief Mayawati

India Blooms News Service | @indiablooms | 06 May 2019, 12:03 pm

Balrampur, May 6 (UNI) Accusing the BJP of seeking votes in the name of caste and religion, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Monday said that this time, the people were themselves giving a befitting reply the party for oppressing the poor.

Addressing an electoral rally at Chota Parade ground in Balrampur district's Shravasti Lok Sabha seat in support of party candidate Ram Shiromani Verma, Mayawati averred that the shower of votes on the 'gathbandhan' after the four phases of polls clearly shows that the alliance will secure victory.

The BSP honcho said that due to BJP's wrong policies, the country's poor people, labourers, farmers were perturbed. In the past five years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left no stone unturned to harm the country. BJP, upset over the SP-BSP alliance, is attempting to gather votes by trying to develop parochialism in the people in the name of religion and caste.

She said that the Prime Minister, who says that he belongs to a backward caste, is deceiving the public. People will not be misled by Modi.

The BSP supremo said that the BJP, through its false promises such as--bringing back black money stashed abroad and transferring it in accounts of 15 lakh poor people, providing employment to 2 crore people, Make in India, Digital India--looted the people in the name of 'chai' for five years.

Ms Mayawati further said that to stop the Congress party's wrong and repressive policies which was harming the interests of the Dalits and backward people, the BSP was created.

The former UP chief minister said that the people were themselves giving back an answer of the oppression which took place in the five years of the BJP rule towards the Dalits, backward classes, poor people belonging to the upper caste.

Mayawati alleged that the BJP people were deliberately leaving stray animals in SP-BSP gathbandhan rallies.

Targeting the Congress and the BJP, Mayawati said that both the parties couldn't ensure the development of Dalits, backward classes, tribal people and the minorities. The reservation system in government jobs is ineffective. Without ensuring proper arrangement of reservation in private sectors, big businessmen are being promoted.

Launching a scathing attack at PM Modi, the BSP president alleged that when Mr Modi was the chief minister of Gujarat, he preyed on the rights of the backward classes by announcing himself to be hailing from backward class on paper. On May 23, people will take out the BJP government and a gathbandhan government will be formed at the Centre.

Ms Mayawati said that the BJP, which was failing because of its false promises, was now conspiring to gain votes by leading the people astray with the help of issues such as nationalism and terrorism. The public is well aware of the BJP's antics and will not be trapped in their 'chakravyuh.'
She further said that the borders were unsafe under the BJP government because of which terror attacks were taking place and the Jawans were getting martyred.
