Only BJP can ensure national security, deliver faster growth, says BJP president Amit Shah

Ghazipur, Apr 25 (UNI): BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday hit out at the Opposition leaders, saying that people supporting ‘tukde-tukde’ gang will not be able to protect the country and then development will have no meaning.

He was addressing a rally in the Ghazipur constituency of Uttar Pradesh. Union minister and sitting MP Manoj Sinha is seeking re-election from the constituency.

Addressing a rally in support of BJP’s veteran leader and Union Minister Manoj Sinha, before Mr Sinha’s nomination, the BJP president said that owing to Mr Sinha’s efforts, Purvanchal had started running ahead on the road to development.

Mr Shah said that Ghazipur which had been deprived of development had witnessed all-round development. The BJP president also enumerated the benefits which had reached the farmers and poor people.

Assuming a nationalist pitch, Shah said that during Dr Manmohan Singh’s tenure, terrorists entered India and attacked our Jawans. But in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, the terrorists were given a befitting reply through the surgical strikes after the Uri attack and the Balakot airstrikes following the Pulwama terror attack.

Mr Shah said that Congress’ ally and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah is demanding the making of a ‘second Prime Minister’ in Jammu and Kashmir but Mr Rahul Gandhi was silent on this matter.

Further, the BJP president said that there was a 'tukde-tukde' gang in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Mr Modi had put them behind bars on charges of being anti-national, even the Congress had announced that they will end the Sedition law if voted to power.

All those rallying behind the ‘tukde-tukde’ gang for their politics will not be able to protect the country, he added.

"Akhilesh, Mayawati and the Congress cannot keep the country safe. The BJP cannot do 'ilu-ilu' with terrorists, an apparent reference to the popular short form of ‘I love you’", Shah added.

Mr Shah appealed the people to vote for the one who can protect the nation and to defeat ‘bua’-‘bhatija.

On this occasion, Union Minister General VK Singh, Shiv Pratap Shukla, Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Brijesh Pathak, Jai Prakash Nishad, Ghosi and Ballia Lok Sabha seat candidates Harinarayan Rajbhar and Virendra Singh Mast, Rajya Sabha MP Sakaldeep Rajbhar, etc were also present at the Lanka ground in Ghazipur where the rally took place.

Following the rally, Mr Sinha held a road show from the Lanka ground till the District Election Officer’s office and later filed his nomination papers.
