Puducherry: Youth hacked to death

Puducherry, Apr 24 (UNI) A 36-year-old man was hacked to death at Nonamkuppam near here on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Nagaraj, a carpenter of Tolgate in Ariyankuppam here.

According to police, Nagaraj and one Logu had a quarrel at Nonamkuppam when Logu hacked Nagaraj to death.

Previous enmity is said to be the cause for the murder.

Meanwhile, police resolved another murder case here with the arrest of three youths.


Police said, the body of a man was found in the drainage at Muthialpet here and when it was taken out, wounds were found on the head and body and they came to a conclusion that somebody beat him to death and threw him into the drainage.

On investigation, police got information that the man, identified as Bharath(25), a mason from Kuyilapalayam near here, consumed arrack with three youths at the Karuvadikuppam arrack shop.


Police identified the youths as –Arun Kumar,Manoj Kumar and Ezhumalai- and enquired them.


They admitted of beating Bharath to death and throwing him into the drainage as he irritated them on getting arrack free of cost.


The trio were arrested, police added.
