What Modi does not want India to see? Congress questions after IAS officer suspended for checking PM's chopper

New Delhi, Apr 18 (IBNS): Congress, the country's principal opposition party, raised questions after an IAS officer was suspended by the Election Commission (EC) for checking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's chopper in Odisha's Sambalpur.

"An official was suspended by ECI for doing his job of inspecting vehicles. The rule cited governs the use of official vehicles for campaigning. It 𝑫𝑶𝑬𝑺 𝑵𝑶𝑻 exempt PM's vehicle from being searched. What is Modi carrying in the helicopter that he doesn't want India to see?" Congress tweeted on Thursday.

The EC has stated Mohammed Mohsin, the IAS officer, did not act in "conformity" with instructions on Special Protection Group (SPG) protectees.

The EC has been quoted by NDTV, "As cited in the order...instruction dated 10.4.14 states that SPG protectees are excluded from checking."

Mohsin has been accused of "insubordination and dereliction of duty".
