Lightning claims lives of 3,damages crops & houses in Nashik

Nashik, Apr 17 (UNI) Three people and two animals were killed as streak of unseasonal rains along with lightning continued to lash Baglan,Deola,Dindori,Kalvan,Malegaon,Nandgaon,and Yeola here on straight third day on Tuesday,informed police on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as a woman Houshabai Fakira Kuvar (72),one temple priest Sampat Shankar Udhar (68),and a shepherd Yogesh Bapu Shinde (30).

In the first incident,victim Houshabai and a goat were killed when when lighting struck on her at Vajgaon village in Deola taluka.

In the second incident,elderly priest Sampat was killed when lighting struck him as he was standing near the temple at Korhate village in Dindori taluka.

In the third incident,young victim Yogesh was killed in Jaykheda village in Baglan taluka when lighting struck the tree under which he was standing for taking shelter from rains.

Similarly,in Kalvan taluka,lightning took the life of a buffalo.

The rogue weather pattern damaged the harvests of heat,onion,chilli,tomato,and wreaked infrastructural havoc in the villages of Pimprale and Khedgaon.
