Pulwama Attack: Donald Trump urges India, Pakistan to 'get along'

Indian government blamed Pakistan for the attack on Feb 14 which left the nation shocked.

Trump reportedly described the attack as a 'horrible situation'.

Several nations have condemned the incident.

Reacting to Trump's remarks, Congress leader and former Union Minister Manish Tewari tweeted: "Horrible situation Indeed Mr. President. @realDonaldTrump If only US had listened when India kept saying-Pakistan is Somalia of S. Asia - but first you reqd Pak to fight Soviets in Afghanistan,then Taliban & now you require Pak to make peace with Talib’s."

Imran Khan wants evidence from India:

Little less than a week after 40 CRPF jawans were killed in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama area, Pakistan PM Imran Khan, whose nation has been blamed by India to be behind the incident, on Tuesday asked the neighbouring nation to share evidence on the issue and assured his country will 'take action'.

"If you have actionable evidence, share it with us. We will take action," Khan was quoted as saying by Dawn News.

"Not because we are under pressure, but because it is our policy," he said.

India gives strong reply:

Giving a reply to Pakistan PM Imran Khan over his remark on Pulwama attack, India on Tuesday said the neighbouring nation should stop 'misleading the international community' and take credible and visible action against the perpetrators of the Kashmir incident.

"We are not surprised that the Prime Minister of Pakistan refuses to acknowledge the attack on our security forces in Pulwama as an act of terrorism. Prime Minister of Pakistan has neither chosen to condemn this heinous act nor condoled with the bereaved families," read a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs.

"It is regrettable that the Pakistani Prime Minister has insinuated that India’s response to the terrorist attack is determined by the forthcoming General Election. India rejects this false allegation. India’s democracy is a model for the world which Pakistan would never understand. We demand Pakistan to stop misleading the international community and take credible and visible action against the perpetrators of Pulwama terrorist attack and other terrorists and terror groups operating from areas under their control," it said.

India rejected Pakistan PM Imran Khan's comments on the Pulwama attack and said his nation is the 'nerve center of terrorism'.

"Pakistan claims to be the greatest victim of terrorism. This is far from truth. The international community is well acquainted with the reality that Pakistan is the nerve center of terrorism," it said.

"The Prime Minister of Pakistan has offered to investigate the matter if India provides proof. This is a lame excuse. In the horrific attack in Mumbai on 26/11, proof was provided to Pakistan. Despite this, the case has not progressed for the last more than 10 years. Likewise, on the terror attack on Pathankot airbase, there has been no progress. Promises of "guaranteed action” ring hollow given the track record of Pakistan," read the statement issued by the Indian Foreign Office.
