PM holds bilateral talks with Saudi Crown Prince : Sushma discusses bilateral ties

New Delhi, Feb 20 (UNI/IBNS) :Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud here and held bilateral talks.

This will be followed by delegation level talks. There will be exchange of agreements and press statement.

Earlier, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj called on the visiting Saudi Crown Prince both the leaders discussed issues related to trade, investment in defence and also on issues related to regional cooperation.

"Vibrant & forward-looking ties," tweeted MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar along with the photograph of both the leaders.

"EAM Sushma Swaraj called on HRH Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed Bin Salman. Discussed adding momentum to strategic dimension of our relationship in various fields - from trade & investment to defence & security, and regional cooperation," MEA spokesman tweeted.

The Crown Prince will hold a meeting with the President Mr Kovind later in the evening.

The visiting Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud said that the strong relationship between India and Saudi Arabia is in "our DNA" - a remark which was readily endorsed by Prime Minister Modi.

In his brief remarks after the ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here, the visiting Crown Prince said: "We have very old relations between two countries....Today we want to be sure that this relation is maintained and strengthened for the sake of both countries".
