Jammu and Kashmir: One jawan martyred, militant killed in Pulwama gun fight

Pulwama, Feb 12 (IBNS): At least one army jawan was martyred and one terrorist was killed during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Tuesday, officials said.

The suspected terrorists killed in the incident was identified as Hilal Rather of Kakpora.

Police said he was associated with terrorist outfit Hizbul Mujahideen.

"#Pulwamaencounterupdate: Killed terrorist identified as Hilal Rather of Kakpora. Affiliated with proscribed outfit HM. Involved in several terror crimes including attack at SMHS hospital in which 2 cops were martyred & Pakistani terrorist #NaveedJatt had escaped. @JmuKmrPolice," tweeted Kashmir Police Zone.

Police said arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot.

"#Pulwama encounter update: Operation concludes. One jawan #martyred. One #terrorist killed. Arms & ammunition recovered. Identity & affiliation being ascertained. @JmuKmrPolice @PIBHomeAffairs," it said.
