New Delhi, Jan 22 (IBNS): Stirring a row, Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board chief, Waseem Rizvi, has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urged him to shutdown all Madrasas across the country, media reports said.

In a letter given to Modi on Jan 21, Rizvi said if all Madrasas are not shutdown then half of Muslim population will be influenced by the ISIS ideology in 15 years.

The letter has been quoted by Times Now, "I write to you seeking the shut down of all madrasas in the country…because we have seen across the world that children are the first targets when it comes to plotting and planning terrorist activities, and with the increasing threat from Islamic State, there is fear that it will influence India as well."

He also alleged that the ISIS is teaching children doctrines and luring them with money in Jammu and Kashmir.

Rizvi also urged Modi to make a provision in which only students who have been cleared high school will be allowed to study in Madrasa to pursue career in religious paths.

"That way, a child can attain proper education in regular schools and learn communal harmony and at the same time, have the opportunity to follow the religious path if so desired," he has been quoted by Times Now.
