Delhi government decides to increase number of Urdu centres

New Delhi, Jan 18 (IBNS): With an aim to promote Urdu, the Delhi government has decided to increase the number of Urdu centres from eight to 50, media reports said.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Art, Culture and Languages, Manish Sisodia, made the announcement.

"To promote the language and take it to people interested in the language, the Delhi government has decided to increase the Urdu Certificate Course Centre from eight to 50 in different parts of the city," a government statement has been quoted by Swarajya.

The statement also said the language should be taken to a greater mass.

It further said learning Urdu would certainly improve academic discourse, the media report said.
