Punjab CM Amarinder Singh visits grenade attack site in Amritsar

Amritsar, Nov 19 (IBNS): Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday visited the site of the grenade attack in the state's Amritsar area on Sunday which left three people dead.

The CM shared a video of his visit to the site on his Twitter page and captioned the post as: "Visitng the grenade attack site at Adliwal Village."

A grenade attack at Nirankari Bhawan during a religious ceremony in Amritsar's Adhiwala village on Sunday left at least three people dead.

Singh on Sunday condemned the incident.

He urged people to maintain peace.

The blast left 15 others injured.

Singh said he will not allow the 'forces of terror' to destroy the 'hard-earned peace' in the state.

He tweeted: "I appeal to the people of Punjab to maintain peace in wake of Amritsar bomb blast. I urge them not to panic and to remain calm. We will not let the forces of terror destroy our hard earned peace."

Condoling the loss of lives in the blast: "My heart goes out to victims of the Amritsar bomb blast & their families. My govt will give Rs 5 lakh to kin of each of the dead and free treatement to injured. Have asked district administration to extend all help."

The incident happened during a religious ceremony of Nirankari sect at the Nirankari Bhawan, which is a prayer hall.

According to reports, two motorcycle-borne men threw some explosive near the Nirankari Bhawan.
