Tinsukia incident : 24-hour Assam bandh hits normal life in many places

Guwahati, Nov 3 (IBNS): The 24-hour Assam bandh called by All Assam Bengali Youth Students Federation and few other organisations on Saturday to protest against killing of five people in Upper Assam’s Tinsukia district has affected normal life in various parts of the state.

Movement of vehicular traffic has been paralysed in different parts of the state during the bandh.

The bandh supporters have tried to stop vehicular movement in Tinsukia, Karimganj and Cachar districts.

Shops and business establishments in many places, including in several parts of Guwahati, remained closed.

Five people were killed by unidentified gunmen at Kherabari area near Dhola-Sadiya bridge under Sadiya assembly constituency in Tinsukia district on Thursday evening.
