New Delhi, Oct 5 (IBNS): The Delhi High Court on Friday acquitted former TV anchor and producer Suhaib Ilyasi in connection to his wife's murder case.

A bench of Justices S Muralidhar and Vinod Goel allowed hearing Ilyasi's appeal.

In his appeal, he had challenged his conviction and life imprisonment.

The once popular TV anchor was sentenced to life in jail for the murder of his wife 18 years ago.

Ilyasi used to host the popular television crime series 'India's Most Wanted'.

His wife, Anju Ilyasi, 30, was found in her Delhi home with multiple injuries on January 11, 2000.

Suhaib initially claimed that she committed suicide.

However, three months later, he was arrested on charges of dowry harassment.

The autopsy report then didn't clarify whether she committed suicide or was murdered.
