Satya Pal Malik appointed as new Jammu and Kashmir Governor

New Delhi, Aug 21 (IBNS): The Indian President's office on Tuesday confirmed that Satya Pal Malik, the Governor of Bihar, has been appointed as the new Governor of Jammu and Kashmir.

"Shri Satya Pal Malik, Governor of Bihar is transferred and appointed as Governor of Jammu & Kashmir," read a Press Communique issued on Tuesday.

He will replace NN Vohra.

Lal Ji Tandon has been appointed as the Governor of Bihar.

The President has made the following appointment/changes:-

(i)   Lal Ji Tandon as the Governor of Bihar.

(ii)   Satyadev Narayan Arya as the Governor of Haryana.

(iii)    Baby Rani Maurya as the Governor of Uttarakhand.

(iv)    Satya Pal Malik, Governor of Bihar is transferred and appointed as Governor of Jammu & Kashmir.

(v)     Ganga Prasad, Governor of Meghalaya is transferred and appointed as Governor of Sikkim.

(vi)   Tathagata Roy, Governor of Tripura is transferred and appointed as Governor of Meghalaya.

(vii)   Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor of Haryana is transferred and appointed as Governor of Tripura.
