Mandsaur, Aug 21 (IBNS): A special court on Tuesday awarded death sentence to two for raping a minor girl in Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur city.

Special judge Nisha Gupta had earlier held the two people arrested in the case as guilty under relevant sections.

Father of an 8-year-old girl, who was raped in Mandsaur area of Madhya Pradesh, had last month demanded death sentence of those involved in the crime.

The father reportedly said he wants the accused to be hanged till death.

When the girl was waiting outside her school, two men, identified as Irfan Khan and Asif, abducted her and then raped, tortured and slit her throat, leaving her to die.

She is still undergoing treatment in hospital.

The two accused were arrested by the police.
