Prez presents Official Language awards on Hindi Divas Samaroh
New Delhi, Sept 14 (IBNS): President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday presented Rajbhasa awards in various categories on the occasion of Hindi Divas at a function held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
These awards were instituted by the Rajbhasha Vibhag, Ministry of Home Affairs to recognize the excellent contribution of Ministries, Departments and Nationalized Banks etc. in the field of Hindi.
Speaking on the occasion, the President said the Constitution provides that Hindi language should be developed in such a way that it should reflect India’s composite culture.
Hindi has therefore, been entrusted with a very important role. He said that language is helpful in enabling government policies and schemes to reach the people. For democracy to be progressive, the use of Hindi language and regional languages will have to be increased.
The President further said that the use of Hindi in internet and mobile services has increased manifold and this would be helpful in providing efficient administration to the public.
