Kolkata, Aug 8 (IBNS): Acting on a tip off, the Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police on Wednesday arrested a member of Bangladesh based terror outfit, Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), from West Bengal's neighbouring Jharkhand in connection with Bodh Gaya blast case, officials said.

According to reports, 26-year-old JMB operative Dilwar Hasan alias Ali Hasan alias Umar, who is a resident of Kaliachak in West Bengal's Malda district, was nabbed from Sidhu Kanu More area under Pakuria Police Station limits in Pakur district of Jharkhand.

A senior official of STF told IBNS that the JMB suspect has been charged under IPC sections 120B, 121, 121A, 123 and 125 and sections 4 and 5 of Explosive Substance (ES) Act.

"The JMB member was involved in Bodh Gaya explosion of IEDs in January 2018," the official said.

Earlier on Monday and Tuesday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested four more JMB operatives from different locations in Bengaluru and Kerala in connection with the same case.

On Jan 19 this year, a low-intensity IED explosion was reported from Kalchakra Maidan in Bihar's Bodh Gaya, hours after Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama had finished a sermon at Mahabodhi temple nearby.

Dilwar Hasan is likely to be produced in a Kolkata court on Thursday.
